In a press release on October 25, 2023, the High Commission of India in Ottawa announced the resumption of services for as of October 26, 2023. The release states it will resume services for entry visas, as well as business, medical and conference visas. 

Now is the time to start the visa process for Pulses 24 in New Delhi on February 14-17, 2023. Here’s what you need to know:

E-Visa

E-visas are granted to visitors entering India for the purposes of recreation, sightseeing, visiting friends or relatives, attending a short-term yoga programme, medical treatment including treatment under Indian systems of medicine and business.

It is not available to:

1) Residents of Pakistan or those with Pakistani family. If the visa applicant or or either of their parents or grandparents was born in, or was a permanent resident of Pakistan.

2) Citizens from Pakistan, Canada, Ethiopia, Nepal, Egypt, Bangladesh, Qatar, China, Hong Kong and Iran. Please apply for a regular sticker visa at the Indian embassy in your country or nearby countries. Please contact the nearest embassy, consulate or visa application center.

3) Holders of Diplomatic/Official passports, UNLP (UN Passport) holders and international travel document holders e.g. INTERPOL officials.

How to apply for an e-Visa

Fill in the application online on the Indian government website. The applicant can apply 120 days in advance of their expected date of arrival in India. We suggest you apply for a Tourist visa because it is simpler and faster.
