Adi Lengel received the Sustainability Leadership Award 2024 for Fabumin. 

For the third consecutive year, the Global Pulse Confederation (GPC), the leading authority for the global pulses trade, will spotlight trailblazers in sustainability and innovation at its annual convention, Pulses 25, set to take place in Singapore from May 20 to 22, 2025. This prestigious event, hosted at the Fairmont Hotel, will convene over 700 delegates from more than 50 countries, making it a pivotal gathering for stakeholders across the pulse industry value chain.

The GPC Pulses Awards were established to honor companies and organizations that are driving transformative change in the sector. The awards specifically recognize outstanding achievements in two critical areas: sustainability and innovation. Nominees for these awards represent a diverse array of companies and initiatives from around the world, each contributing uniquely to advancing the pulse industry’s role in global food security, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture.

Rabobank supports sustainability

This year, the Sustainability Award is sponsored by Rabobank, a global leader in sustainable finance and food system transformation. The bank’s involvement reflects the growing recognition of pulses as a cornerstone of sustainable agriculture, thanks to their ability to enhance soil health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Nominees for the GPC Pulses Awards span continents and disciplines, showcasing innovations from supply chain technology to upcycling food waste. Previous winners have included Plantae Bioscience, Beans is How, Ebro and Fabumin. 

Shortlisted nominees for 2025

GPC Innovation Award: MartinoRossi, Italy; Elementa Foods, Argentina; Pulses Splitting, Sri Lanka; Praga Alimentos, Argentina; USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council; DiMuto, Singapore. 

GPC Sustainability Award: Roquette, France; IBRAFE, Brazil; ZiFYA, Zimbabwe; Yuti Group, Mexico; Agropecuaria San Marino, Venezuela; N&E Innovations, Singapore. 

The awards will be given during the closing Gala Dinner on May 22 during the Pulses 25 convention and winners will be reported on in the following days. 

Pulses 25 will feature expert panels, keynote speeches, and networking opportunities, all centered on the themes of sustainability, innovation, and the future of pulses in the global food system. By recognizing pioneers in these fields, the GPC aims to inspire further advancements and collaboration, reinforcing the vital role of pulses in building resilient, inclusive, and sustainable food systems worldwide.
