The Indian Ministry of Agriculture published a memorandum on May &, 2022 confirming the extension of the derogation relaxing the fumigation regulations for imports of agricultural commodities for which fumigation treatment with MBr is stiptulated in PQ Order 2003.
The relaxation of the rules applies until or before (bill of lading date in country of export) May 6, 2023. An additional fee will be charged.
If MBr is required for the commodity, fumigation will be allowed without offshore Mbr from those countries which certify discontinuation of this chemical for phyto measures.
This memorandum does not affect the relaxation given to pulses on March 5, 2022 by which the four times inspection fee for penalties relating to MBr fumigation at arrival in Indian ports has been waived for pulses, applicable until June 30, 2024.
